More than 15 years ago, he started working toward the vision of bringing Nishad community matrimony into the digital space and making matrimonial connections easier, more accessible, and more transparent.

SK Nishad envisioned Nishad Bandhan as one of India’s early online matrimonial initiatives dedicated specifically to the Nishad community and related communities, including Nishad, Bind, Kashyap, Kewat, Sahani, Raikwar and other associated community groups.

His mission is to use technology to create a free and accessible online matrimonial platform where community members can register, discover suitable profiles, communicate, and take the first step toward finding a life partner without unnecessary barriers.

One of SK Nishad’s central missions through Nishad Bandhan is to bring together the different communities and social groups that share the broader Nishad cultural heritage, despite differences in names, regional identities, traditions, and social divisions.

He believes that “Roti-Beti ka Rishta”—sharing relationships, food, family bonds, and especially matrimonial relationships—can play an important role in bringing people closer and strengthening a sense of unity.

Over generations, communities associated with Nishad heritage have developed different names and identities across various regions, including Nishad, Bind, Kashyap, Manjhi, Majhwar, Kewat, Sahani, Raikwar, Gond, Dhuriya, Kahar, Mallah, Godiya, Batham, Turai, Bhoi and other related groups.

SK Nishad believes that these different identities should not become barriers to social connection. Instead, marriage and family relationships between willing and compatible families across these communities can create stronger bonds of trust, respect, and togetherness.
